3.11 isn't over yet. It is not an event of the past, nor is it limited to the area of Tohoku. We need to reflect upon our failure to perceive a harsh and foreseeable reality and in doing so we must face squarely the present situation. However the reality is complicated, and the actual state of affairs cannot easily be seen. Daily life in the disaster areas is shrouded in mist. It is a place where respective feelings of sorrow and resentment need to be eased, new relationships formed and new expectations for the future created. But we are convinced that there is "something" which can only be realized in these affected areas. In the various dialogues and efforts taking place there, a new value essential for the next generation is being germinated. In order to draw closer to this site of change, we are striving to create, together with local people, a "dialogue towards hope"
